Though we are given so many good things in our lives such as good food, friends, vacations, money and joy, we often feel dissatisfied.  I find myself asking, “Is this really all there is to life?”

Not everything seems to be going right for David in this Psalm, he seems to be defending himself against some false accusations and he is being surrounded by his enemies.  Yet, he knows where to look for his satisfaction.

Vs. 15 – And I – in righteousness I will see your face; when I awake, I will be satisfied with seeing your likeness.

Stop a moment.  Can you imagine gazing on the face of the Lord?  That should bring fear to our hearts.  It is an awful thing to look on the face of the King of Kings.  But it is also what we were made for.  Here is the only place – eternal moment of time – where we will be truly satisfied.
